An introduction
This blog is dedicated to the memory of
Phyllis Devine and The Alternate: A Chronicle of 20th Century Motor Racing
which she published for many years as a service to the racing history
community. Ms. Devine’s little monthly magazine featured racing history
articles written by readers, and always provided unique perspectives on the
history of our sport. This new blog has been created to feature articles written by you, the readers, following Phyllis Devine’s rule -
“write what you know.” Ms. Devine encouraged many amateur writers through the
years, including yours truly, and editing this blog is my way of giving back.
This blog will allow us to share
stories and memories of racing history from the people that lived through it,
or have researched it, so important history can reach a wider audience. Please
consider this as my invitation to submit racing history articles, photographs, and
videos that you want to share with the world. This blog will be what you the
readers make it.
Please submit your articles via the email link under the 'about me" tab.
In the immortal words of my racing history mentor and friend Don Radbruch "thanks troops."
